after my speed walk around Lake Matheson, finn was still asleep, and we drove on to the town of Fox Glacier. he woke up and we hiked to the glacier view, about a 30 minute hike. again, a nice NZ couple volunteered to take our picture:


the Fox Glacier is less popular than the Franz Josef, probably because Franz Josef is a larger town. the glacier itself was no less impressive:


finn wanted the camera:


it was still very overcast. it would be interesting to see the glaciers with the sun shining on them. i bet they would have a completely different feel.



this was back in the parking lot. finn had fun tossing rocks in the blue, glacially fed pool:
